The Metaverse that Fully Integrates with Reality Has Arrived! “VketReal 2024 Winter” to be Held on December 21st (Sat) and 22nd (Sun)!

HIKKY Co., Ltd. will hold “VketReal 2024 Winter,” a real-life version of the world’s largest metaverse event, “Virtual Market (Vket),” which has attracted 1.3 million visitors and holds four Guinness World Records. The event will be held at “Ikebukuro Sunshine City” in Tokyo on December 21st (Saturday) and 22nd (Sunday), 2024.

“VketReal” is an in-person event dedicated to promoting and advancing XR-related creativity and its community.Unique plans have been developed to astonish attendees by blending traditional exhibitions and sales with virtual and real-world creations, while also incorporating social events for enhanced interactions.With the advanced technology of “Vket Attractions,” VR users can enjoy the unique experience of “Leaping into the real world in virtual form,” allowing users to explore the venue from the comfort of their own homes.Additionally, on-site visitors can easily interact with VR avatars, play minigames, and experience avatar-assisted shopping without requiring any specialized knowledge or complex operations.Furthermore, the goal is to bring together platform providers, businesses, organizations, and local shops in the hosting city to encourage their participation, collectively pioneering the untapped metaverse market.

“VketReal” had a successful debut in the summer of 2023, attracting around 40,000 visitors. This year, the summer event saw significant growth with approximately 50,000 attendees.This real-world event was originally launched with the goal of bringing avatars from the virtual world into reality. As it enters its fourth edition at the end of the year, it’s not just about expansion and growth anymore. A new theme, “Deepening,” has been introduced, aligned with the slogan: “An Expedition Fest between Virtual⇆Real! Dive into the vast infinite unknown!”We aim to create an event that deepens the passion, excitement, and new encounters with the virtual world by incorporating XR technologies and creative expressions that further enhance the interactive link between VR and reality. This event is not limited to “Vket” and “VketReal,” but will also bring together users of social VR platforms such as “VRChat” and “Resonite,” along with everyone who loves the metaverse and virtual worlds. Together, we’ll enjoy, collaborate, and continue to push these experiences to even greater depths.

This year’s venue will be Tokyo’s “Ikebukuro Sunshine City,” a well-known hub of subculture and a familiar spot for virtual users who enjoy “Vket,” “VketReal,” and “VRChat.”The venue was carefully selected for its convenience, being close to the station and offering great options for dining, resting, and accommodation. Additionally, it aligns well with our new initiative of fostering community collaboration. Our goal is to create an event that fosters even more meaningful and in-depth communication. After careful deliberation, the venue will be divided into two sections: a free zone and a ticketed (paid) zone. The free zone will offer popular attractions for all visitors to enjoy, including corporate booths, merchandise sales, and an avatar photo wall. In the ticketed zone, there will be a dedicated area showcasing “Parareal Creators,” who are expanding their activities from the virtual to the real world. This zone will also include community-organized stage events, immersive stores, and attractions that bridge the virtual and real worlds, such as “V-Duel.” Special collaborations are planned to further enhance the experience for attendees.

Paid tickets will not only grant entry to the experiences but will also come with various special perks and benefits. We plan to offer perks for ticket holders, such as complimentary drinks at food and beverage booths within the venue, as well as special benefits in collaboration with the upcoming “Collab Offline Event.”Details regarding free and paid zones, as well as ticket sales, will be announced soon. Due to popular demand, the “Parareal Creator’s Area,” which attracts long lines even before the venue opens, will once again be setting up this time. We are inviting creators who step beyond the virtual world and merge the boundaries into reality. We eagerly await the next projects from virtual and parareal creators. 
In addition to the one-day “Standard Slot,” we are introducing a new “Premium Slot,” which allows for a two-day exhibition during the event. You can apply for both slots simultaneously. 
Our goal is to create an area that feels like an adventure, to discover hidden treasures in the deep sea, projects that offer interactive experiences enjoyable in both the virtual and real worlds.

The event was held as a touring style event in Shibuya and Harajuku on December 16th and 17th,  2023, attracting 50,000 attendees. Popular exhibitions included puzzle-solving games and stamp rallies that linked walking tours in the real world and the metaverse, as well as “Vket Walk,” where participants could interact in the real world while in their avatar form.

The event was held on August 3rd and 4th, 2024, in Akihabara and Shibuya in Tokyo, as well as in Namba, Osaka.Over the two days, attendance reached around 50,000. Official merchandise and products from various booths and stores sold out quickly. Notably, this was the first time the event was held in a regional location outside of Tokyo, generating considerable buzz on social media and other other platforms.
