"Seven & i Metaverse" Introducing Seven & i Holdings' Sustainable Initiatives Adopts Vket Cloud

HIKKY(CEO: Yasushi Funakoshi, Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "HIKKY") announces that its web metaverse development engine "Vket Cloud" has been adopted for the production of "Seven & i Metaverse", a metaverse space to introduce "Seven Premium", a private brand of Seven & i Holdings Co. Ltd. has been selected to create the "Seven & i Metaverse", a metaverse space that introduces Seven Premium's sustainable initiatives aimed at reducing food loss and protecting the environment. A joint venture of HIKKY (CEO: Junnosuke Watanabe, Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "HIP"),  was in charge of the production.

"Seven Premium" is promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are to utilize raw materials without wasting them in product development. A special metaverse space was created using Vket Cloud technology to allow visitors to enjoy and deepen their understanding of the Seven & i Group's initiatives with a presentation unique to the Web metaverse.

Four Seven Premium products developed with a focus on food loss and environmental protection are placed in various locations in metaverse space, and visitors can explore the venue while looking for them in metaverse space. Visitors can learn about the Seven & i Group's SDGs initiatives in an easy-to-understand manner along with various gimmicks that can be experienced by touching the products.

Metaverse space created with Vket Cloud can be easily accessed with a web browser on a smartphone or PC, without the need for dedicated equipment or application downloads. Seven & i Metaverse does not have a conversation or text chat function, so even children can use it safely.

The 3D objects, poster images, and video content of the four products installed in this metaverse are delivered using "Parad," a content delivery solution developed and provided independently by HIP. The contents are provided as an opportunity for visitors to learn about the Seven & i Group's SDGs initiatives under expressions that are easy for visitors to understand through a presentation unique to the Metaverse space.

Parad is a new solution that allows users to distribute content that they touch in a virtual space itself as advertisements. Parad provides a new point of contact for communication between users and companies, where users can see, touch, and enjoy the advertisements themselves.

For example, by creating 3D outdoor advertisements in the city that allow visitors to freely move the company's products and characters within the VR space and make them pop out, it is possible to provide a special, one-time-only experience. Visitors will also be able to not only view those advertisements, but also touch them, talk with them, and communicate with them. More active contact with the advertisements can be realized than conventional methods.
